Cloning Tools
=============

   As a project manager, you may want to use an existing tool as a base for creating a new tool. This can streamline the process of setting up a new tool and ensure consistency across similar tools within your project.

Cloning functionality currently exists for:

- Pages
- Surveys

Cloning content tools or participation tools
--------------------------------------------

1. Using the top-level menu, navigate to the **Projects** tab.
2. Select the relevant project; this opens your project overview page.
3. In the left-hand menu, under **Content tools** or **Participation tools**, select the tool type you would like to clone (NB: Cloning is currently available for Surveys or Pages). This will open all the tools created for this project.
4. Select the tool you would like to clone.
5. Navigate to the **Clone** tab.
6. Select a target project for the cloned tool (*Note: You can only clone to projects you have permission to access)*
7. Click **Clone**.
8. Once cloned, you will be navigated to the edit screen of the new tool, in the target project.

*Note: The cloning of participation tools only duplicates the latest draft state of the tool, without its revision history or submissions.*
