Gather instant feedback and report on real time results through dynamic charting. Quick polls encourage user interaction and reduce the feedback cycle as results are instantly shared with the public and platform administrators.

Add a poll

To add a poll to your project:

  1. While logged in, use the top-level menu to navigate to the Projects tab.

  2. Select the relevant project; this opens your project overview page.

  3. In the left-hand menu, under Participation, click Polls. This shows all the polls created for this project.

  4. To create a new poll, click +Add poll.

  5. Give the poll a Title. This will be publicly visible on your project page.

  6. Describe the question in the Question field.

  7. Tick Required to make responding mandatory.

  8. Provide a brief Description to help respondents answer the poll.

  9. Add some options for respondents to choose from. Click +Add option to add as many options as required.

  10. On the right-hand side, add a Description which will be displayed next to the form.

  11. Tick Require account to prevent anonymous submissions on the poll.

  12. Set an End date for the poll by either typing in the date or clicking on the calendar icon and choosing a date from the calendar.

  13. In Advanced settings, add a custom submission response note if required.

  14. When you’re finished, click Save.

Edit a poll

To edit an existing poll:

  1. While logged in, use the top-level menu to navigate to the Projects tab.

  2. Select the relevant project; this opens your project overview page.

  3. In the left-hand menu, under Participation, click Polls. This shows all the polls created for this project.

  4. Click on the ellipsis menu, then click Edit to be taken to the edit screen.

  5. Alternatively, click on the poll you want to edit, then from the Overview page, click the Edit tab.

  6. When you’re finished, click Save.

Delete a poll

You can delete a poll from a project if it’s no longer needed, or was created by mistake. This permanently removes the poll and all its content and cannot be undone. Proceed with caution!

Note: you may not have delete permissions as part of your role. If you have any questions about your permissions, contact your District Engage administrator.

To delete a poll:

  1. Navigate to an existing project.

  2. In the left-hand menu, under Content, click Polls. This shows all the polls that already exist for this project.

  3. Click on the ellipsis button to show more options for a poll. Click Delete.

  4. Alternatively, click on the poll you want to edit, then click the Delete tab.

  5. You’ll be prompted with a warning to confirm the action. Click Yes, Delete this Poll.

  6. Your poll is now deleted.
