Polls

   Gather instant feedback and report on real time results through dynamic charting. Quick polls encourage user interaction and reduce the feedback cycle as results are instantly shared with the public and platform administrators.

Add a poll
----------

To add a poll to your project:

1. While logged in, use the top-level menu to navigate to the **Projects** tab.
2. Select the relevant project; this opens your project overview page.
3. In the left-hand menu, under **Participation**, click **Polls**. This shows all the polls created for this project.
4. To create a new poll, click **+Add poll**.
5. Give the poll a **Title**. This will be publicly visible on your project page.
6. Describe the question in the **Question** field.
7. Tick **Required** to make responding mandatory.
8. Provide a brief **Description** to help respondents answer the poll.
9. Add some options for respondents to choose from. Click **+Add option** to add as many options as required.
10. On the right-hand side, add a **Description** which will be displayed next to the form.
11. Tick **Require account** to prevent anonymous submissions on the poll.
12. Set an **End date** for the poll by either typing in the date or clicking on the **calendar icon** and choosing a date from the calendar.
13. In **Advanced settings**, add a custom submission response note if required.
14. When you're finished, click **Save**.

Edit a poll
-----------

To edit an existing poll:

1. While logged in, use the top-level menu to navigate to the **Projects** tab.
2. Select the relevant project; this opens your project overview page.
3. In the left-hand menu, under **Participation**, click **Polls**. This shows all the polls created for this project.
4. Click on the ellipsis menu, then click **Edit** to be taken to the edit screen.
5. Alternatively, click on the poll you want to edit, then from the **Overview** page, click the **Edit** tab.
6. When you're finished, click **Save**.

Delete a poll
-------------

You can delete a poll from a project if it's no longer needed, or was created by mistake. This permanently removes the poll and all its content and cannot be undone. Proceed with caution!

*Note: you may not have delete permissions as part of your role. If you have any questions about your permissions, contact your Civio Engage administrator.*

To delete a poll:

1. Navigate to an existing project.
2. In the left-hand menu, under **Content**, click **Polls**. This shows all the polls that already exist for this project.
3. Click on the **ellipsis button** to show more options for a poll. Click **Delete**.
4. Alternatively, click on the poll you want to edit, then click the **Delete** tab.
5. You'll be prompted with a warning to confirm the action. Click **Yes, Delete this Poll.**
6. Your poll is now deleted.
