Add supporting files to your project page to help your community access all the right information they need to provide informed feedback.

Create documents

To add documents to your project:

  1. While logged in, use the top-level menu to navigate to the Projects tab.

  2. Select the relevant project; this opens your project overview page.

  3. In the left-hand menu, under Content, click Documents. This shows all the files already uploaded for this project.

  4. To add a new file, in the top right, click Upload.

  5. You can drag and drop one or more files, or click to browse.

  6. Once you’ve selected the files, click Upload.

Important: Uploading files does not automatically add them to your published project. You need to make sure you’ve added a Documents content block in your main project overview. For more information about creating and editing your projects, see Creating and managing projects. Only published files will be publicly visible.

Edit a file

To edit an existing file:

  1. Navigate to an existing project.

  2. In the left-hand menu, under Content, click Documents. This shows all the files that already exist for this project.

  3. Click on the ellipsis button to show more options for a file. Click Edit.

  4. Alternatively, click on the file you want to edit, then click the Edit tab.

  5. When you’re finished editing, click Done.

Unpublish a file

You can unpublish individual files from a project without affecting the other content. The file will be automatically removed from anywhere it’s current displayed or linked to.

To unpublish a file:

  1. Navigate to an existing project.

  2. In the left-hand menu, under Content, click Documents. This shows all the files that already exist for this project.

  3. Click on the file you want to unpublish.

  4. At the top right of the screen, next to the Save button, are your publish options. Choose Unpublished from the dropdown menu.

  5. Click Save.

Delete a file

You can delete a file from a project if it’s no longer needed, or was created by mistake. This permanently removes the file and cannot be undone. Proceed with caution!

Note: you may not have delete permissions as part of your role. If you have any questions about your permissions, contact your District Engage administrator.

To delete an file:

  1. Navigate to an existing project.

  2. In the left-hand menu, under Content, click Documents. This shows all the files that already exist for this project.

  3. Click on the ellipsis button to show more options for a file. Click Delete.

  4. Alternatively, click on the file you want to edit, then click the Delete tab.

  5. You’ll be prompted with a warning to confirm the action. Click Yes, Delete this file.

  6. Your file is now deleted.
