   Maps can be used to communicate complex geographical information to the public, and/or to gather spatial feedback from the public. Maps are created on a project level and are stored in the 'Map Library'.

View your project maps
----------------------

Project maps are stored in a 'Map Library' on a project level. To view your existing project maps:

1. While logged in, use the top-level menu to navigate to the **Projects** tab.
2. Select the relevant project; this opens your project overview page.
3. In the left-hand menu, under **Content**, click **Map library**.
4. This shows all the maps available for this project.

### Creating project maps

### Adding layers to your project map

Internal users can add pins or shapes to maps created in the Map Library to share detailed geographical information. Click [here](/articles/9493481007247-Adding-layers-to-a-map) for more info on map layers.

### How to use a project map

Maps created in the Map Library can be used in the project in the following ways:

As the basemap of a **map survey**, to gather geographical feedback from participants.
